Im sorry mate this verse makes no referene to Moslems as being chosen people by God . Clearly this phrase "Had the People of the Book believed" is a reference to the Jews , a similar verse is found in Matthew when christ castigates Jews for non-beleif and says its now the time of the Gentile . You got to remember Islam and Christianity grew out of Judaism , and belive it or not Islam is more closer to Judaism than Christianity .
