'Chosen' is a vague term which depends on by whom and for what. I think that ultimately, it's people that have to do their own choosing.

I remember the thread. My question is what point the question has anyway. Doesn't every 'Abrahamic' religion think they're chosen? When Diamond was here he accidentally let slip the same perspective, almost at exactly the same time he was harping on that thread.

Frankly if the Judaic belief is that the world will get blasted and all the nasty Goyim trampled on, that's fine. Everyone runs around telling me I'm doomed; no problem. It's when some religions try to hurry the process up for non-believers on earth that I start taking offense.

But while Judaism has a concept of 'chosen nation' and Islam has 'best nation', these concepts are today generally interpreted as 'we should set an example', rather than 'yay, we're teh coolest and have superior rights'. Which is a step in the right direction in my opinion.
