Anyone out there play Guitar? and if so what style or cover songs do you like to play? Plus if anyone plays any other instrument I'd be glad to here about it.

As for me, I play Blues and own a Jackson and a Strat.

Strat and Yamaha.

I enjoy playing a lot of things. Rock like Green Day or Strokes. Classic rock like Stones or Zepplin (I love playing Stairway). Leo Kottke. Classical. Everything that's good!

My fav songs to play? Hmmmmmmmmm.

Stairway
Smooth by Santana (yeah he's a sell out, but that song has some cool guitar)
Layla
White Wedding by my friend Billy!

Stones are awesome - I like playing Sympathy for the Devil Myself.
Stairway's cool too.

Play any Hendrix - I love to play Changes.

I play only fingerstyle myself. I play some Martin Simpson pieces. LOVE Murial Andersons playing. Chris Proctor is always interesting. Pat Donahue Rocks. Eric Lugosch is a great player. Ed Gerhard has some beautiful numbers. I have played everything from old country to classical, modern fingerstyle, and some rock. It's all good.

Oh, by the way I play a Taylor. It's a relatively new guitar and I absolutely fell in love with it. It is the most playable acoustic I have ever owned.

I have a Takamine acoustic/electric 12 string and a couple of acoustic 6 strings. Always lost the picks so I learned to fingerpick. Used to do a lot of "campfire" stuff. Several others would bring their boxes and we would all jam out around the fire.

I like to play different kind of rock and pop music =) from metallica to cat stevens, from coldplay to green day...

I just own a simple accoustic guitar... but it works great =) Bought some pretty expensive nylon strings that works terrific... none of them has broken in like months...

70's Strat, 70's SG Standard, Roland GR 707 synth guitar, 60's Hagstrom 12 string acoustic fitted with only 6.

I love improvising on bluesy/eastern/jazzy/freeform themes. Never play anyones songs or try to emulate other players--strictly original and spontaneous, play according to mood and THC content. Love playing the Strat through a Korg A4 FX processor and Fender amp. I also write original electronic/dance music using a sequencer and assorted synths.

Love and respect Hendrix and Pat Metheny more than all others.

Chill!

I have a Strat and a Nippon acoustic.
I play mainly Thrash Metal such as Metallica (mainly. They are my metal gods), Testament, Megadeth, etc.
My guitar is sucky (it's not an original Fender Strat), but I can live with that. I'm planning to buy something more serious like a Les Paul or a Flying V in the near future...
About songs...
The best warm up song (in my opinion) is Master of Puppets (Metallica) and it's definitely fun to play so I love to play it. Others are "The Ballad" (Testament), Fade to Black (Metallica), Hit the Lights (Metallica), Stairway to Heaven (Led Zeppelin. I know. It's not Thrash) and such.

I want a Les Paul myself.

Anyway, my fav finger picking is Leo Kottke. If you don't have it - download Busted Bicycle.

i was a guitar/bass player anyway i have been influenced by Van Halen, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Prince.

Steve Vai has a wonderful technique and prince a wonderful touch...

Satriani's my favorite guitarist, though I can't really play his style.

What I was wondering is why almost every well known guitarist I see is runnig around with A Les Paul? There good guitars but not that great - must be a status symbol.

Other awesome gutiarists: Rhandy Rhodes, Tony Iommi, FRANK ZAPPA!, and his son Dweezil.

I like to play Dylan, Floyd, Waters and a little bowie.

I don't wanna make it cry or sing.
In fact, an old guitar is all I can afford...

I have a Hohner semi-acoustic with Hohner FORCE amp.

I have a Yamaha PSR330 keyboard too...
