GREAT PYRAMID VENTILATION!? SHAFTS

I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT NO OTHER RESEARCH HAS TAKEN PLACE SINCE A SMALL ROBOT WAS SENT UP.
WHAT LIES BEHIND THAT DOOR. NO WAY CAN THEY HAVE GO TO THE TROUBLE OF PUTTING IT THERE FOR NO REASON AT ALL. HOW ABOUT RETREIVING THE PIECE OF WOOD IN THE SHAFT AND SUBJECTING IT TO CARBON14 DATING?
 
I recall something about those vent shafts and the stone blocking access to it's further reaches. It seems to me that there was a local problem with the government and some technical issues, but that is just a vague memory.

I don't remember where I saw that. Do you have a URL or more info regarding this? I need a jump-start.

BASICALY THE CLAIM IS THAT THE 4 SHAFTS (2 IN THE KINGS CHAMBER AND 2 IN THE QUEENS ARE PURELY FOR VENTILATION)LATEST THINKING WHICH CAILMS THAT THE PYRAMIDS ARE PART OF A COLECTION OF MONUMENTS AS FAR APART AS JAPAN AND EASTER ISLAND WHICH ARE ASTRONOMICAL MARKERS.

I thought the shaft was found inside the pyramid... also wasn't it sloping down? Unless someone was pumping air in, the only thing that would settle lower is heavy air or carbon dioxide rich air. Hardly the stuff you would want to breathe. I also thought the pyramid was built from the inside out...
Boy we all need to do some research...

That's what I recall, that the shaft went down, but the robot that they were using was blocked by a stone. They want to know what was behind it.

Darn! It must have been a PBS show. It's been so long...

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR FEEDBACK FOLKS, JUST TO CLEAR UP A COUPLE OF POINTS,"AIRSHAFTS" IS A NAME GIVEN TO THEM BY MODERN EXPRERTS. WHAT MAKES THIS EXPLAINATION AT BEST DUBIOUS IS THAT THE ENDS OF THE SHAFTS INSIDE THE CHAMBERS WERE SEALED UP. THEIR CONSTRUCTION WAS VERY ELABORATE IE THE STONES WERE SHAPED BEFORE BEING PLACED AS OPPOSED TO A SHAFT DRILLED INTO THE HEART OF THE PYRAMID. PLS KEEP YOUR COMMENTS COMING!!!!
