Yes, it will be a while until scientists can prove without a doubt that our propensity to believe in god is hardwired in our DNA. But ask yourself this: is it likely to be true? Would spirituality somewhere in our evolution be useful to us?

No. But I'm pretty certain that it is hardwired in us because practically every other behavioral propensity is too. We are our genes.
