Here's an interesting question.

What method of giving donations or charity makes you feel better ?

1. Do you like it more personally giving it yourself, like giving money to a poor person you pass on the street, or putting in a salvation army bucket, or mailing a check to a charity, etc...

or

2. Do you like it more when the government taxes you, and then uses some of that tax money for charity in the form of welfare, foodstamps, etc..

Nobody can possibly select the latter, because it isn't even charity nor is it giving to the needy.

You are involuntarily giving to the government, and a whole lotta your tax money is lost in the inefficiency of government bureaucracy.

Welfare is just for lazy people to feel like they did something good.

As long as I am helping someone in need I really do not care how it is done .
What counts is the result . I feel sorry for any human who begs . Some have mental problems and it is beyond them, some are poor but instead of stealing or selling drugs they beg....etc .

I prefer giving charity more myself, it makes me feel better.
Not to mention the government usually inefficiently spends tax dollars and a lot goes to fraud waste and abuse. Just my opinion.

When giving money to a poor person on the street, I know 100% of the money is getting to them.

both, i DEMAND the goverment use tax money to pay for services but i also give my time to st john both to benfit myself and to benfit the community
