Genetic Programming?

You’ll need to be more precise with your terms. What do you mean by “genetic programming”? Are you referring to machines/computers with biological components? If so, then this is already a reality to a minor degree. “DNA computers” use the information encoded in DNA to perform calculations. Google with the term “DNA computer” and I’m sure you will find some info.
 
well the good folks at venture labs are in the process of creating a synthetic organism, it hasnt completely panned out yet though. As far as creating artificial intelligence. . . That depends on your definition of intelligence.
