Free Will

Yes, I had the "will" to attempt to respond to your question ....so I did.

But just because there is "will" to do or say something, does NOT mean that it's "free" will. Understand? To me, there's no such thing as "free will". There is, however, the "will" to do things ....it's just not free.

Baron Max

exactly. You are on to something important here.

Quantum Quack would disagree with you. Saying that "a will exists therefore you have no will". He would say you are determinend because you have no will.

Do you see what I'm saying? Do you see what this bastard (thinking) has done to me? He's killing me.

hmmmm...after all that flurry...I was going to say to sarkus,
a line of thought I was workig on [ in development ok?]

Think of a ball that has an energistic potential to move in every possible direction.
will could be deemed to be self potential for movement or change.

Draw the distinction beteen inanimate ball and a self animated ball....hmmmmm

The inanimated ball has the potential but not the will....will then moves towards volition and the ability to choose.
....say for example the ball is a robot and has the ability to make preprogramed choices in any posible direction depending on it's programmed priorities...... we have the will to move but it is preprogrammed to as it is supposed to do...so it is not free willed but a determined will.

with me so far?

free will could then be said to be the ability to step outside the programming [ aka conditioning ] and rebel against the past. [ which we always invariably do - thus growth] [ change the programming ]

he disagrees!@!!!!!!!

That means no threats, no taking anything away from me, leaving me with my own free will, letting me live my life so that I am not sued in accord with the universe because someone wants to hurt me.

I'm not going to hurt you tnerb , in any shape or form

I going to disagree with you at times , though:D

I think everything is determinend to happen, no matter what. People can try to stop determinism, what no matter what everything will always happen irregardless to outcome. This means that free will does not and can not exist, unless there is some other building block which supports something which is not determinend, which there isn't. So.... Yeah.

really? how so.

As long as you can ask these, and many more questions, you have will, and it is still forming. you have will and you make your choices freely, I assume. But one day this thing you call will, this question, will end.

I hope that means something positive.

Maybe I should stop talking to anyone that says "one day this will not be so. One day you will die. One day you will have no free will. One day I hope this comes soon..." whatever.

one day should never come for us Human Beings

ever

our will should be and really must be stronger than any living thing out there

in the Universe

for infinity
