You're completely right. If there is an average of ten casinos dedicated to tribes per state, what does that make? About fifty casinos for the tons of Natives in North America? Those casinos only affect the few tribes fortunate enough to get them. If you look at the status of Natives today, you'll notice they are in a mess. Sure, a marginal number receive limited benefits from these casinos, but to say that is enough reparation or compensation is truly laughable. You can talk all you want about how helpful they are, but the fact remains: the majority of Natives are poor, many are abused during childhood, and many grow up to be alcohol abusers/drug addicts. These casinos only help the minority of the tribes that get them.
Apparently the answer to everything is alcohol, drugs and gambling. (and guns, of course, though I doubt the US government arms the native Americans the way it does all insurgents in other countries)
Yeah and still they are taking on manufacturing work that the Americans won't do
And showing a consistent increase in GDP
What about the native Americans?
Are they building infrastructure? A labour market? Manufacturing industries? Agricultural development?
Do you expect to see a Native American President anytime soon?

Military defeat, cultural pressure, confinement on reservations, forced cultural assimilation, outlawing of native languages and culture, termination policies of the 1950s and 1960s and earlier, slavery, and poverty have had deleterious effects on Native Americans' mental and physical health. Contemporary health problems suffered disproportionately include alcoholism,[28] heart disease, diabetes, and suicide.
Despite the ongoing political and social issues surrounding Native Americans' position in the United States, there has been relatively little public opinion research on attitudes toward them among the general public. In a 2007 focus group study by the nonpartisan Public Agenda organization, most non-Indians admitted they rarely encounter Native Americans in their daily lives. While sympathetic toward Native Americans and expressing regret over the past, most people had only a vague understanding of the problems facing Native Americans today. For their part, Native Americans told researchers that they believed they continued to face prejudice and mistreatment in the broader society.
In 1978, the Bureau of Indian Affairs established a regulatory process for recognizing tribes. The current process for federal recognition, found in 25 C.F.R. 83, is a rigorous process requiring the petitioning tribe to satisfy seven mandatory criteria, including historical and continuous American Indian identity in a distinct community. Each of the criteria demands exceptional anthropological, historical, and genealogical research and presentation of evidence. The vast majority of petitioners do not meet these strict standards, and far more petitions have been denied than accepted. In fact, only about 8 percent of the total number of federally recognized tribes have been individually recognized since 1960. Thus, if a Native American tribe is not federally recognized, it is not entitled to certain privileges, such as sovereign immunity.
Interesting! I just popped into this thread about Fatwas and Israel, and it's really about the USA and how horrible we are - again.

Don't be silly, if the Jews can get their land after 2000 years, the native Americans have a lot of time left to argue their case.

*grumbles* buncha brain dead morons *grumbles*
Maybe if you knew anything about sarcasm your point would have been clear.
Sarcasm[A] is the sneering, sly, jesting, or mocking of a person, situation or thing. It is strongly associated with irony, with some definitions classifying it as a type of verbal irony intended to insult or wound[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] — stating the opposite of the intended meaning, e.g. using "that's fantastic" to mean "that's awful".
:roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:
The buffalo shit gets deeper.
One too many war injuries Buffy.
The whole POINT of sarcasm is for the other person to get it.
Then you better study up on the proper usage of it, you really suck at it.
But then if you didn't have such a record of derailing threads may be your sarcasm would be more self evedent.
