You're completely right. If there is an average of ten casinos dedicated to tribes per state, what does that make? About fifty casinos for the tons of Natives in North America? Those casinos only affect the few tribes fortunate enough to get them. If you look at the status of Natives today, you'll notice they are in a mess. Sure, a marginal number receive limited benefits from these casinos, but to say that is enough reparation or compensation is truly laughable. You can talk all you want about how helpful they are, but the fact remains: the majority of Natives are poor, many are abused during childhood, and many grow up to be alcohol abusers/drug addicts. These casinos only help the minority of the tribes that get them.

No it means that each tribe has at least one Casino of its own, as I pointed out the 500 Nations list is just the major Casinos, in my State there are little Hole in the Wall Casinos all over the place, the one I listed are the one with convention facilities, Hotels, Golf Courses, Restaurants, and full package accommodations for their guests, dam Kadark, I live here, and I am a blood brother to the Ojibway Tribe, Bear, Clan, Sundee Family, I have seen the checks that he receive quarterly as his share of the Tribes earnings from the Casinos, not just one but a dozen from the Grand Casino, to the Hole in the Wall size ones.

Now yes there are still Indians who have trouble, but it isn't from lack of Tribal resources, its because they themselves are screwing up their lives, just like in the rest of America, every Tribe now has programs to help with alcoholism, drug addiction, getting work, they have free health clinics for all the Tribal members, any tribe member can get a job at the casinos, first preference, but guess what the Tribes have to look outside the Tribe to have enough employees to run the Casinos, the Tribal members get a profit sharing check no matter what, that is the funniest thing about the whole situation, that the Tribes to have enough employees to run their Casinos, have to go off reservation to get them.

Despite the ongoing political and social issues surrounding Native Americans' position in the United States, there has been relatively little public opinion research on attitudes toward them among the general public. In a 2007 focus group study by the nonpartisan Public Agenda organization, most non-Indians admitted they rarely encounter Native Americans in their daily lives. While sympathetic toward Native Americans and expressing regret over the past, most people had only a vague understanding of the problems facing Native Americans today. For their part, Native Americans told researchers that they believed they continued to face prejudice and mistreatment in the broader society.

As for why not, because most of them are not federally recognised.

In 1978, the Bureau of Indian Affairs established a regulatory process for recognizing tribes. The current process for federal recognition, found in 25 C.F.R. 83, is a rigorous process requiring the petitioning tribe to satisfy seven mandatory criteria, including historical and continuous American Indian identity in a distinct community. Each of the criteria demands exceptional anthropological, historical, and genealogical research and presentation of evidence. The vast majority of petitioners do not meet these strict standards, and far more petitions have been denied than accepted. In fact, only about 8 percent of the total number of federally recognized tribes have been individually recognized since 1960. Thus, if a Native American tribe is not federally recognized, it is not entitled to certain privileges, such as sovereign immunity.
