Fat People's View on Skinny

In my neck of the woods, those folks are chubby.

Also, guy in the first pic has obviously lost over 100 lbs. That's skin.

I'm hardly a boy, dear. ;) While I *do* get that I look under 18 a lot, I'm just a couple years younger than you. I'm just not so harsh-looking and don't cake on make-up. But I will give you that with a little weight lost and short hair, I can look a little androgynous if I wish. ;)
 
Hello, I’m 5’5 and 107 pounds. Although, I am a bit skinny my doctor told me that I am considered a “skinny fat person”. Meaning although I appear thin, I have far to much body fat for my weight.

That is very common. A common misconception is that people's absolute weight determines their fitness level. That just isn't true - which is why I have a problem with the BMI index. It's just full of shit... not completely, but just enough for me to decide that it is. :rolleyes:

There are tons of people out there who appear thin, but when they take off their shirt you see lovehandles and fat rolls, moobs, 1-pack, and other awesome features.

My own example is like this: in the past 1-2 months I've lost 20 pounds, but have been eating junkfood a lot and gained more fat. I appear visibly thinner, and have shrunk 3 belt holes, yet the moob/lovehandle factor increased.

I'm planning on buying a bicycle in the coming few days and bike to work every day (about 10 miles altogether) - doing this daily will tone it up a bit, I believe.

Exactly. And I've worked with and been friends with guys that have your current physique that look out of shape, that could keep up with me every step of the way on a 3 mile run.

And you're 12% body fat right now? Also, agreed... using me again as an example, once I drop to 20% body fat I'll be able to run long distances and sprint like a mofo. Appearances can be misleading, both ways.

Oh and btw, I just bought a bike :) Rode 5.5 miles which took me about 35 mins and BOY is my ass gonna hurt tomorrow... like in jail... :D
