McDonald's has the best fries...but Burger King has the best burger (whopper)...Jack in the Box, has the best milkshake...so which one wins??!!!

I have to disagree. I actually think King fries are nicer but if I had to choose between them, I would go for McDonalds because of the apple pies!

KFC beats both of them.
How can u not get hungry at these pix:

My personal favourite restaurant however is TGI Fridays. I am addicted to their food, even though it rips holes in my wallet!

I like KFC sides but not their chicken. It gives me the....well, I hafta race to the bathroom and lose a gallon of liquids..just 10 minutes or so after eating. Church's has the best fast food chicken imo, but they are rare exept in the black community.

KFC is alright. I like their chicken burger things you get on a tray with sides, a drink and dessert. The chicken is near 100%, unlike a lot of supermarket chicken nuggets, etc.

The chicken is so small it must come from baby birds. It's also runny and extremely greasy. Gives me da runs!

Maybe they cook it differently here lol =/

It's usually perfectly cooked - not too moist, not too dry. Crunchy on the outside, mm. Tonnnnnes of mayonnaise. Lovely.

Near 100%?:bugeye:

So it is not all chicken then?

Sorry but you have not made me want to run for KFC anytime soon lol. Last time I had KFC was a long while ago (couple of years at least) and I got severe food poisoning. Bad enough to warrant a trip to the hospital and be put on a drip to rehydrate. Never had fast food from anywhere since then.

And people.. fast food? Your gateway to food poisoning and clogged arteries, along with sides.

Ever heard of making the stuff yourself with ingredients you know to be fresh? Hell, with known ingredients?

I think most fast food chicken is made of a certain percent of water and salt or something like that.

good to see someone with common sense here. i have a friend who works at the meatworks, and the reason your $1 burgers are $1 is because mcdonalds gets the offcuts and scrapings cheap, it literally is the shit the scrape up off the floor. not that i would touch it anyway being a vegetarian.

I heard that each burger could have meat from up to 50,000 different animals in it...could be an urban myth...but you only need one with Bovine Spongiform Encephalitis...

I can't remember where I saw it and I can't seem to find it, but I remember reading about the amount of actual chicken in chicken products from various places. Like Oniw17 was saying, they add salts, additives, etc to most stuff. KFC came out above many chicken with breadcrumb, chicken nuggets and other pre-made stuff you can get in the supermarket. Granted, the rest of the stuff in a burger/meal is unhealthy and the fact it's fried.

Obviously. Sometimes you can't be bothered, need to grab something quickly or just want to pig out, though. That you had a bad experience and don't eat fast food is too bad, but don't try to spoil everyone elses enjoyment.

Making stuff is expensive, time consuming and messy most of the time. Making the equivalent from chicken, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, oil, etc is expensive and time consuming. I'm not saying I wouldn't do it, but fast food is - Hmm, hungry. In the car. Oh look, a KFC. Chicken please.. Thanks. Mmm. *throw rubbish in a bin 5 minutes later* Let's go..!

Cooking it is - Right, we're in the supermarket. Chicken breasts.. Sesame seed buns, aight. Tomatoes.. Lettuce (Do I pick ready to go, in a nice plastic bag stuff or a proper lettuce. I wonder if I'll get through a whole lettuce or if it might turn yellow and I'll need to throw it out...). Mayonnaise.. Bread. Flour. Butter. Oil (Sunflower or olive.. hmm, getting expensive). Beans for the side. A bottle of cola (or healthy alternative). Checkout.. *hand cashier a couple of notes*

...

Get home. Unpack the bags (dispose of environmentally unfriendly packaging). Get a bowl out to mix the flour, butter and breadcrumbs, having mashed up the bread. Frying pan for the chicken. Pot for the beans. Glass for the drink. Cook the chicken for maybe 20 minutes, whilst dirtying some spoons stirring things, a knife and chopping board cutting lettuce and tomatoes (after washing them). Put the buns on a plate, fill with chicken, etc. Sit down and eat. Spend 10/15 minutes washing up.

KFC = £4 and 10 minutes
DIY = £10+ and 1 hour +

Sorry, I got a little carried away.

Geez.

It takes me 10 minutes to make 2 - 4 hamburgers at home. 15 if we have fries with that. Throw a couple of steaks into the food processor with onion and some choice fresh herbs. While that blends I get the salad ready (lettuce, tomato, pickle, etc) and have the BBQ grill heating up nicely. In about 2 minutes the meat is ground up and I make the patties. Throw them on the BBQ. While they cook I get the buns ready, stack on the salad, finish cooking the meat and there you go. Washing up takes about 1 minute. Cost for 2 - 4 burgers is the same as I would have spent buying one cheeseburger meal from McDonalds. And I can assure you, I know exactly what goes into mine, it is a lot healthier and actually tastes like a hamburger and not like soggy cardboard (as one would get from a fast food place).

Chicken we tend not to fry... icky.. We grill or bake. I just don't see the need to dip chicken in batter and then deep fry it. Talk about ruining it.

Look.. I personally don't like fast foot that much. It just has no taste for me. I still remember McDonald's running their new breakfast menu ads on TV a while ago, with the slogan of "now with real bacon". I mean what in the hell were they using before?:bugeye: We go out for lunches and dinners and such, but we tend to not really bother with fast foods.

My husband buys it for himself sometimes and even then, he tends to eat it with a cringe. I think the only thing we buy would have to be pizza, because we frankly can't be bothered to make it ourselves. We considered investing in a pizza oven in the backyard (the big italian brick dome ovens), but with a small child and another on the way, it could pose a danger to them while it was in use.

It's a matter of taste. Some like it.. some don't. I personally don't like it. I've had several bouts of food poisoning from it, the last of which was with KFC which required hospital care. Now I prefer to just not bother.:p

Fair play. I think we both exaggerated our figures a little, but ultimately, what you say makes more sense. I think there's a decent middleground. If you eat reasonably most of the time, you can pig out now and again if you want and you might not like it - bonus.

I'd go for the pizza oven and come up with something to keep the kids away. That would be awesome. My German exchange guy's mother made her own pizza and it was unbelievable. I usually improvise on a piece of toast, but she'd gone all out with proper ingredients. It tasted better than most restaurant pizzas I've had. No stuffed crust, though :p

Long John Silver's!

I agree with Genji: Waaay too greasy. Sometime early last year, a new hybrid fast food place opened up. A&W and Long John Silver's. I think they both belong to a company called Yum, as does Taco Bell. Anyway, I had only had A&W each time I had been there, and I decided I wanted to try Long John Silver's this one time. I was not pleased. I went back to only A&W.

WAY too greasy and salty. I have to shower after eating like that.

Read above. :D

i would love to see the cholesterol levels of everyone who has posted in this thread.

If I ever figure out mine, I'll be sure to tell you.

Tonnnnnes of mayonnaise. Lovely.

EWWW. I dislike the thought of mayonnaise.

Can you get the recipe?

Guys, you should try Freschetta sauce-stuffed-crust pizzas. They're among the several frozen pizzas available, and I'm fucking addicted to them like coke, they're so yummy!
