No it wouldn't. Everybody roots for the status quo--the same ole same ole. Society has a tremendous resistance to evidence for extraordinary events. Nobody wants to live in a MORE uncertain universe.
Why isn't it a man in hairy clothing? Why are there no fossils or skeletons? A reproducing population of these things would leave evidence. Why don't they raid garbage cans like any other large mammal would on the edge of civilization? Either they are as elusive as a snow leopard (for which there is ample evidence) or they don't exist. None of the videos show they they can move like a wild animal. They are lumbering and slow, like a person in a heavy coat.

You seriously believe men in gorilla suits sit out in the remote woods waiting for people to come by and film them? That's insane. The effort it would take for hoaxters to produce thousands of eyewitness sightings every year is far less likely than just Bigfoot actually existing.

No they wouldn't. Everybody mocks bigfoot eyewitnesses as nutcases. It's the reigning attitude. "Look at this fruitcake who saw a Bigfoot. Ha!" Now a message from our sponsors...
Not as insane as believing in some mythical creature that roams the forest/woods over many decades and continually avoids capture or any evidence of a body/skeleton.
For anyone of those "thousands" of sightings, there are thousands of impressionable gullible, easily fooled people who just want to believe!
Why we even in Australia have our own version similar to the the North American myth, and the Tibetan Abominable Snowman myth with our very own creature we call the Yowie!
Our's though was dreamed up by an ancient people and their dreamtime culture.
Everyone mocks Bigfoot eyewiteness accounts for the many obvious reasons as to why the existence of such myths is insane to use your own words.
As daecon says though, if some credible evidence was forthcoming they most certainly [the media] would be climbing over each other for an exclusive.
It's less insane than thinking there is an undiscovered North American ape for which there is no physical evidence whatsoever.

No it isn't. The eyewitness accounts and footage speaks for itself. Your belief that all this bigfoot stuff is propagated as a gigantic hoax is a conspiracy theory. And we all know about conspiracy theories don't we?
