I have seen them before but saw something on tv just now...no names to incriminate the stupid the gullible or the con men
...what a load of fully processed bull shit....and blaspheming using the name of Jesus to call upon to heal. That is so wrong and I am not a christian but totally offended by their linking to Jesus.
Cant we get these horrible con artists who perform their trickery and staple their lips to their forehead.

What lieing self deluded fools ... cull them and add them to the compost heap ... cut out their lieing tounges and beat them with it. They can bullshit almost as good as a catholic priest.

How cruel to give gullible folk hope that what cant be fixed by modern medical science will be fixed by them with some mumbo jumbo nonsence ... what mungrel dogs they are...If I can find where they perform their con I will attend and heal their face with a baseball bat.

You have to know. If you posses faith it can tell hope like a little groundhog, but you must have some sort of science, and certainty.
 
There is a psychosomatic component to most illnesses.
Often placebos work as well, or nearly as well as real drugs for certain conditions.
If you really believe that a faith healer can help with your condition, then, together you can experience a shift in mood that can aid healing, reduce pain, etc.
If you stay in a negative mood, healing takes longer and may not happen.

Long ago I read of an experiment wherein some of the rats were led to believe that they had no control over their environment, by randomly reprogramming buttons for food, water, and electric shock.
When placed in a pool of water, the so treated rats would give up and drown after a very short period of time, while the untreated rats would keep treading water for hours,

If you want to live, don't stop treading water.
If you believe that a faith healer or a doctor can help you, then your ability to keep treading water is enhanced.

Anyway, I actually remember because it was the first time I encountered the name Kuykendall, which is pronounced differently than we pronounce Puyallup.

Long story short: Woman goes to revival sermon, lines up for healing. Preacher lays on the hands, she falls, catchers don't catch, she breaks her hip and lower back, or some such. So much for faith or anything God might have been trying to tell her; she filed suit and won.

That really was, like, thirty-five years ago.

I do recommend Leap of Faith, starring Steve Martin (and Debra Winger, Lolita Davidovich, Liam Neeson, and Lukas Haas, and featuring Meat Loaf as a bus driver/organist; dir., Richard Pearce, 1992); it's a proper classic.

There was this time, over a decade ago, when Tucker Carlson decided to have after Jon Stewart for not being journalistic enough, and the Daily Show host found himself wondering, in disbelief, how the Crossfire host could possibly compare Comedy Central to the Cable News Network. News agencies got the last laugh, though, by leaving The Daily Show to become one of the nation's premiere news sources.

Faith healers aren't doctors. Find me the faith healer injecting people's asses with silicone caulking and, no, the glory of Jesus Christ isn't going to save him from the courts.

I don't know whether you're elevating faith healers in order to project greater imperative about your complaint, or carrying some beef against doctors, but that argument just doesn't work.

I neither said nor implied anything about legitimate doctors.
Faith healers should be investigated & many, if not all, prosecuted for fraud, in the least. They horribly hurt people for financial gain. They are much worse than con artists playing shell games & at least as bad as other medical quacks. They are scum. They falsely claim to heal people & perform treatment on people therefore they are practicing medicine without a license. It does not matter whether the treatment is injections or laying on hands or roughly shoving them to the floor. If they claim the person will be healed & do anything to them other than pray. preach or advise, it is medical treatment.

What, fraud isn't good enough? You need to elevate laying of hands to medicine?

And that makes you more of a religious zealot than it does make a doctor out of a swindler laying hands on people who would use the same naïve faith by which they are getting swindled to harm their neighbor in Jesus' name.

That is, can we all hold other atheists responsible for you?

Because if "atheism says" doctors have nothing to do with "medical" matters, then we can finally be done putting up with that lot and pretending they aren't just another crew of blithering religious zealots.

If the laying on of hands claims to "cure" or indeed similar practices claiming to "cure" then it could be said that it is those who do such that have sought to elevate their actions to a medical roll and perhaps in the interest of stopping such claims at least suspect actions should be dealt with via intervention by an appropriate medical government authority.

I dont know.
I suppose one would have to look at the legislation in your country to determine if what they do would fit the definitions within the legislation.
I would expect that if you do something that is on the basis that it is a "cure" that perhaps could be of interest to those charged with policing your legislation but obviously one would need to read the legislation.
