If you are given a choice of two things and made to choose one of the two you would be willing to give up for the rest of your life, would you be able to do it on the pain of death if you didn't? So basically choose or die. You might be asking yourself what choice would be bad enough that only being put to death could force you to make that choice.

If we were to go way back to primitive humans, what do you think came first, cooked food or clothing? Could you give one of those up for the rest of your life or would you choose to die? If your answer is you could give one of those up to continue living. Which would it be?

1. If you give up cooked food, it would mean no cooking, baking or any kind of heat processing of any food that you will be eating for the rest of your life.

2. If you choose to give up clothing, you will have to live the rest of your life as a complete nudest 100% of the time.

3. Failure to make this choice or failure to live by your choice at any future time will result in a quick painless death.

4. Also assume that every other human on the planet has to make this same choice, but none will know what the others are choosing until they have made a choice.

the choices you presented needs attention..

can't live without food,
can live naked..

how about a choice between two women (or men)?
you have to choose ONE and only one and be with her for the rest of your life or die.

oh..and its not your choice as to who the two women are..

One can survive without cooked food, and by drying meat, it becomes quite palatable, as well as the various plants, roots, shoots, nuts and berries one might find.

Going naked in THIS climate would not be an option for about 8 months of the year and in the summer, the biting insects would soon enough strip the meat off ones bones.

What did you put in your coffee this morning, KJK? I imagine you are sitting in your natural state and have elected to go with the comfort of cooked food instead? :D

then one can get into the semantics of what cooked food is..
but either way i would rather be naked..

Okay, that's all I wanted to know. Does that mean you think everybody else will choose that choice also, or do you just have a body you don't mind showing off, or maybe eating raw food is just much less appealing to you?

trade you a cooked pork chop for a pair of shorts..

or do you just have a body you don't mind showing off,
can't have chocolate without some cooking..

or maybe eating raw food is just much less appealing to you?
God has a sense of humor..i would be naked and have no way to start a fire to cook my food...

So cold weather caused your decision to eat raw food? I live alone in Washington State and never have any visitors so hanging out in the nude is okay most of the time. But I'll have to join you in eating the raw food, because I do have to go shopping at least once a week and it is usually to cold here, plus visiting my mom and dad in the nude would be very strange indeed. :D

Just thinking about raw food for the rest of my life is getting me depressed and am thinking I might take that easy way out and eat that cooked pork chop you offered.

Hmmmm.....I'll get my mare bred again because mare's milk is very nutritious and their milk can even be used to make a fermented beverage because of the high natural sugar content. She's a Morgan and they produce a prodigious amount of milk.

Production of kumis

Kumis is made by fermenting raw unpasteurized mare's milk over the course of hours or days, often while stirring or churning. (The physical agitation has similarities to making butter). During the fermentation, Lactobacilli bacteria acidify the milk, and yeasts turn it into a carbonated and mildly alcoholic drink.

Traditionally, this fermentation took place in a horse-hide container, which might be left on the top of the yurt and turned over on occasion, or strapped to the saddle and joggled around over the course of a day's riding. Today, a wooden vat or plastic barrel may be used in place of the leather container.[12]

Other accounts from some cities in northern or western China have it that the skin, partially filled with mares' milk, is hung at the door of each home during the season for making such beverages, and passersby, who are familiar with the practice, give each such skin a good punch as they walk by, agitating the contents so that they would turn into kumis rather than coagulate and spoil.

In modern controlled production, the initial fermentation takes two to five hours at a temperature of around 27 °C (81 °F); this may be followed by a cooler aging period.[13] The finished product contains between 0.7 and 2.5% alcohol.[14]

Kumis itself has a very low level of alcohol, comparable to small beer, the common drink of medieval Europe that also avoided the consumption of potentially contaminated water. Kumis can, however, be strengthened through freeze distillation, a technique Central Asian nomads are reported to have employed.[15] It can also be distilled into the spirit known as araka or arkhi.[16]

Is this a contribution to eating raw food? Because I think my favorite drink Gentleman Jack might also qualify.

Wouldn't distilled beverages be prohibited, as they are produced by a manner of "cooking" ?

Or do they not count as food ?

Well not being an expert in the distilling process, I have to plead ignorance as to whether it would qualify as cooked food. But in the OP I did state raw food as it applied to our primitive ancestors and that pretty much disqualifies Gentleman Jack, but probably not kumis. To tell you the truth I might actually choose a quick painless death rather than either one of the two choices.

i could give up both cooked food and clothing pretty easily. what's the big deal?

The quality of life.

why? granted, i didn't consider that it's illegal to go naked in public. but if it were legal, then no big deal.

but cooked food? that's not a big deal really.

what makes it hard is society, not the actual behavior itself. i would have no problem going naked or eating a raw diet. it's society that makes it a pain in the ass.

Maybe for some of us it's not a big deal, but I can't remember a time when I went a whole day without something cooked.

Well if we had a new population of naked people the law would have to change. Also if we had a large population of people that could only eat raw food the grocery stores would have to accommodate the new trend or go out of business.

But in the current society you 100% correct in that they don't make it easy.

Indeed, kumis & other fermented beverages would not be disqualified, since fermentation occurs just by letting stuff like milk & fruit juice sit around under the right conditions.
But distilling involves heating some manner of grain concoction and "cooking" off the alcohol it contains by heating it to evaporate the alcohol, so it's likely a no-go.

I know what you mean. Like I always say - bread and mashed 'taters are why I ain't got "six pack" abs. I guess I could live without 'em, but with nothin' but hard cider, wine & "milk-booze" to wash away the sorrows of never again having a piping hot pizza pie, or dipping into a great big pot of home-made stew, I'd probb'ly take the gas pipe myself !

Society don't make it ten below zero in the dead of Winter 'round these parts.
;)

Hell's Bells...that reminds me of coffee. No goddam coffee ???

Yeah...I'll take the gas pipe for sure.
:D

If you are given a choice of two things and made to choose one of the two you would be willing to give up for the rest of your life,

Well, that's an impossible thing to happen for there are always many ways to do things and more than just 2 choices as well.
