Ethical Standpoint

Fallaceous statement.
If we capture a serial killer and allow him freedom, we are condemning others to death. The killer must be incarcerated to prevent him killing again. Such incarceration is not nice, so we are treating the worst of our kind badly, in order to save others. That is goodness in my book.

Sounds like a knowledge inquiry question.

It is not so much how we treat the worst of our kind that defines us as much as accumulation of our daily actions and how we help others without desiring benefit (although that itself is a very slippery concept, even the feeling of happiness from others benefits oneself and can be said to be selfish). One way to solve this is to treat others with the same standards one expects others to treat oneself.

However this solution might be too subjective. What do you guys think?

I agree.
