Please be aware that the forum rules have been updated. They can be viewed at http://www.sciforums.com/showthread.php?t=42971

Additionally, I am still considering a further update, as soon as I hammer out the language.

Input regarding any changes made or changes wished can be made here. This topic will remain open for about a week, and referred to the usual channels after that.

As far as formatting the outline, I feel that "Personal Comments and Attacks", "Stereotyping and Name-Calling", "Flaming, Trolling, Goading", "Hate and Threats", "Gratuitous Content", and "Freedom of Speech" could all fit under the category "General Respect". Also, the text could be regular size. It's a bit hard to read the way it is now.

But as far as the content, I agree with it all.

Thank ye for the note, Athelwulf. Technically, I agree that various portions could be condensed into one, but in general people need things spelled out rather explicitly.

As to the text size ... well, yeah. You were right. The font looks good on Macs, and I sometimes forget the difference in displays across platforms. That, and I set my text size for browser display around Sciforums. If I set it to, say, the Washington Post or some similar news site ...

... other text would get huge.

I once tried using straight Courier, but someone told me it was too big for comfortable reading at Sciforums.

The new text size is much better. Just go with the default SciForums text settings, and ya can't go wrong. :)

Something ya could add to the content of the forum rules is a link to a site discussing various logical fallacies. Explain that it's in one's best interest to try to make coherent and logical arguments in EMJ, for it adds to the atmosphere of the forum.

Here's a good logical fallacies site: http://www.datanation.com/fallacies/index.htm

Glad to be of service. :)
