what if as a particle of light is observed traveling through a slit the light particle travels through time, resulting in the collapse of its wave potential. The travel through time would only be momentary, but measurements could be taken to determine if the light actually does reach its destination slower than its counterparts that are not observed.
 
haha, yeah that wasn't explained very well, truth is the idea is thought out very well either.

So the thinking goes that so long as the path of light isn't known the light only travels through space, not time; ie the passage of time for the light particle is nothing. However, once the path is known the particle of light travels through a brief ever so small passage of time, thus it slows a very small amount. The consequence of the particle traveling through time is that the particles potential states ( both slits, slit A, slit B, and neither slit) collapses to just one of the potentials and it's location in space-time is definitly known.
 
This is in the wrong section - you are not discussing science, this is more along the lines of idle speculation.

On The Fringe, the Alternative Theories or Pseudoscience folders. Speculation is allowed, though you will still have others challenging the speculation as not meeting the standards of currently accepted theory.

GR describes the path of light in local coordinate frames and remote coordinate frames. Over the entire path.

dr/dt = 1 [local coordinate speed radial path]

Your speculation is nonsense. If you choose to open a thread in alternative theory that's what you're going to hear. Prof Taylor's teaching app is really fun and you don't have to have a physics degree to understand. You don't need a physics degree to read Feynman's book QED: The strange theory of light and matter.
