Do people "deserve" to be criminally violated?

Does telling bad jokes mean you deserve to be blackmailed?

Lori 7: why are we gossiping about david letterman?

Sandy: Because it's a huge news story. It's been all over the news/net today. People are interested. He deserves it. Payback for everything he's said/done against people.

("Letterman blackmailed by CBS:admits adultery", italic accent added)

Sandy has asserted that David Letterman deserved to be blackmailed. This, of course, raises an interesting question:

What criminal violations do people deserve? And why?

Simple enough. Let's see what we can come up with.

I mean, if telling bad jokes warrants blackmail, what else is fair game?

You're out of your f-ing mind. I NEVER said or "asserted" any such thing. Quit lying about me. Quit twisting what I say.

Quit lying, quit trolling

Do you deny authorship of the documented post? Do you deny posting the two sentences: "He deserves it. Payback for everything he's said/done against people."

Quit lying

I was referring to the gossip, not the blackmail. And you know it. What a troublemaker.

Keep trying, Sandy. Maybe one of these days you'll accidentally be honest.

Take a look at your topic post:

Letterman has a son, age 5. What a creep. Maybe this is payback/karma for his attack on Palin's young daugter?

If you were referring to the gossip, the payback/karma would be for banging his staffers.

Your concern was blasting Letterman. Until a rape or harassment allegation surfaces, who he bangs is his business. But you don't seem to have a problem with his private life being opened to the world because of a criminal violation.

Says a lot about your priorities and conscience.

So quit lying.

I usually see this sort of nonsense in the context of people justifying prison rape as a consequence of whatever crime some infamous criminal has committed. I can't help but think that these people don't really think about what they are advocating, and would quickly change their tune if they actually had to watch it go down. Rather than being an extrajudicial punishment that some people joke about, prison rape should be brought to an end.

I do think that people can deserve criminal violations. Not that I would word it that way. Let's take a mild example. Some guy who sneaks into his neighbors garages and steals their tools. Then one day this happens to him. This does not mean that the person who stole his tool was entitled to it, but yes, I think the first guy deserved a taste of the other side of that crime.

This does not mean that we as a society should try to give people what they deserve. I am not sure that's a good model.

But justice can happen via criminal acts. Though it is third parties who get to note this. And, if there is a little luck, the victim of this justice will get it also.

Certain people deserve it. I don't shed a tear when paedophiles or gangsters end up dead by nefarious means.

No it doesn't.

What I don't get is...

So you write a dirty book about a celeb who slept with a couple of his staff (What? 20, 30 years ago?), while single, and then actually married one of them.

No one will publish it because it just isn't interesting so you try to blackmail him for $2 mil AND you take a check for it????

Didn't this guy ever read any blackmail story ever before trying this?

Blackmail is a cash only game dude, small mixed, used bills. And the victim has to actually care about your "dirt."

What a retard.
