consider perhaps hooking up with a peer run self help or mutual support group ... check with your local mental health association or do a search on line... when I joined my first one I found folks who hear the same music as I do... prior to that I was always told/made to feel that I was listening to the wrong music...
has to be peer run though or you will land out in a medical model group where it is deficit that is addressed rather than strength
these are groups where what's right with you is celebrated rather than what's wrong with you fixed... working with what's right with you creates hope... focusing on what's wrong is what perpetuates the learned helplessness - the symptoms of learned helplessness are worse than the original symptoms for the most part... apathy, depression, isolation...
if you do give peer run services a shot, give it time to work... there are no magic bullets, no quick fixes... takes time and persistance... determination to make tomorrow suck less than today did and in time, tomorrow can become something to look forward to
