An amazing tale of their car being crushed. A full story of the Brown Mountain Lights can be read here with video footage: Couple Attacked By UFO While Watching Brown Mountain Lights

I saw the above newspaper story and while the newspaper did not identify the couple the local Cable News Station Channel 12 did. It said the couple were 31 year old Sara Nelson from Greenville South Carolina and her 38 year old husband James Nelson also of Greenville Souh Carolina.

Channel 12 showed the car through a fence at the Burke County Sheirff Impound yard. It did have the back windows out including the rear window and the back of the car had extensive damage from what I could see.

This is the first time I've ever heard of an attack like this and I hope that the local news or newspapers will do a follow up on the story.

I was surprised that the story was not on CNN or some other National News Station.

The Brown Mountain Lights

The Brown Mountain Lights are ghostly lights that appear up in the air over Brown Mountain in Burke County North Carolina. Over the years since the Blue Ridge Parkway was built many people have reported seeing strange dancing lights up in the air over Brown Mountain near the North Carolina city of Morganton. The lights are easiest to view from milepost 310 at the Brown Mountain Overlook and at milepost 181. There are markers at both locations where you can read about the Brown Mountain Lights and know that you're at the right place.

They even did a episode of the Brown Mountain Lights on the X Files. I've been up there and saw the Brown Mountain lights myself and I know I was not seeing car lights or a trick of any kind. I don't know what I was seeing for sure but I do know it was not natural. I personally think it's some form of paranormal activity but I can't prove that. Maybe some day they will. What do you think the Brown Mountain Lights are. Where do you think they originate from. What do you think is the source of the lights. Why not share your comments below and tell us what you think.

People tell of seeing strange lights that often appear to look like miniature campfires dancing in the air up over Brown Mountain. The Cherokee Indians that once lived in this area told of seeing these strange lights going back hundreds of years. The Cherokee said that it was the camp fires of the little people who lived in the area that they were seeing in the area. Other people tell of a great American Indian battle that was fought hundreds of years ago and that the lights are ghosts from that battle.

Some people who have experienced seeing the lights often report other strange occurrences. Recently one man sent me an email telling of seeing the lights while he was pulled off at Milepost 310 on the Blue Ridge Parkway and he said that all at once his video camera which he had put new batteries in suddenly went dead and that when he tried to crank his car that for a few minutes it would not crank or even turn over. He said that as long as the lights were up in the air that his car would not crank. He said that when the lights vanished he tried to crank his car and that it cranked right up.

His story is only one of many that have been told over the years of strange things happening when people see the Brown Mountain Lights. Many people have told of flashlights and cellular phones that suddenly sent dead. And a lot of people say that flashlights, cellular phones, and even car and truck engines go dead when the lights are up in the air. What is it about the lights that drains the power from batteries. I do know that batteries are often drained where there is paranormal activity. I have often been doing paranormal investigations in some location when a battery operated device is drained of its power suddenly.

Researchers have gone to the area of Brown Mountain on several occasions and they have never been able to find any geological explanation for the Brown Mountain Lights. But as you can see in the photo above the lights are very real and when I have seen them they have appeared at times to be almost living. One light will seem to chase another light and the lights will often appear to suddenly dive down into the tree tops and then seem to chase each other back up into the sky. And another really strange thing is that several times when I knew for a fact that I took a photo of the lights nothing showed up on the film. While at other times I have been able to capture the lights on photographs and video.

1922 USGS report:

"In summary it may be said that the Brown Mountain lights are clearly not of unusual nature or origin. About 47 percent of the lights that the writer was able to study instrumentally were due to automobile headlights, 33 percent to locomotive headlights, 10 percent to stationary lights, and 10 percent to brush fires."

lol. Yeah, riiight..and what about the couple who said that a UFO crushed the roof of their car? Lying are they? And what are the colored lights photographed within the trees posted above?

As well as the other thousands of people worldwide who have seen fast moving orbs and the like?

Lying or deluded, take your choice. Most of those phenomena have been explained. Sorry, that you may reject or deny those explanations because you really, really, really want to believe they are visiting aliens or some other mumbo jumbo.

You speak with the voice of someone who is very uninformed. Thank you for posting.

And what do you think is the more likely scenario? That aliens attacked their car?
No, I don't believe in ETs flying around in metallic interstellar spacecraft who perform mutilations on cattle and even humans in Brazil. The only alternative is earthbound flying entities that have evolved here on Earth. Never underestimate the power of evolution is my motto for the current UFO phenomena.

You realize that it's far more likely that the UFOs are extra-terrestrial in origin than it is that there is some secret hyper-intelligent post-human species on earth, right?

They are lights! :) Why even think in terms of "paranormal or supernatural". They are lights! Material objects of this world :)

They move around as if alive though, so they are something more than "just lights".

Obviously.

I just finished reading a book on the UFO phenomenon, it was a hard-fact kind of book. My friend totally dismisses UFO's... he has an attitude a bit like yours. The conventional explanations always ''fit the bill'' and anything which cannot be explained by conventional means must have been the product of a lie. Well, I don't think I share his sentiments any more.

Just like bushfires, headlights and god knows what other explanations may be used, its pretty clear a lot of UFO sightings are not these explanations. And I can't say that proving otherwise is evidence of lying simply because the UFO phenomenon appears to be a real one. I was most interested reading about the Military's involvement with UFO's how they have chased these objects in the sky for many many years. What do we do, should we call these guys liars as well? I am sure they are not perfect, but they can't making this stuff up.

What I took away from this, is that I believe there really are objects in the sky which sometimes do things we cannot. It could be the military, it could be aliens. I doubt it is a hoax, too many grand sightings, technologies involved which doesn't make sense.
