However, I do have have a notion toward a solution; it's just a question of whether there is anyone left around here who would prefers good faith and intelligent community, compared to who just wants a breathless, screeching battlefield.

I think everyone here is in agreement. We are looking for a place to relax and have rational, generally respectful discussions. This used to be the place for that.
