Can I use a 3 Amp Fuse in place of a 5 Amp?

better to use a 3 amp than a 13 amp, the whole reason its there is to stop your burning out your system. if its supposed to have a 5 amp, they thats what you should be using, theyre only a dollar at most.

Ive just tested it with a 3amp and I get nothing. Does this means its not the amp?

There is another fuse in the sub, but its not a normal fuse. I have only changed the 5amp plug fuse to a 3amp so far.

are you getting power to the unit?
are the inputs plugged into the right connectors.
are the outputs plugged into the right connectors?
is the amp set for the inputs?
is the volume turned up?
are you getting power to the outlet the amp is plugged into?

The power goes to the sub and then the system control connects to the sub. The sub has no lights or anything to tell me if it is getting any power. But the system controller is totally dead. All the leads are connected as they should be and it was working yesterday and I have not changed anything since.

Its only a few days old so nothing should have warn out in that time. Any ideas?

The Christmas tree lights were sharing the same plug and they are fine. I have also tried the system on a totally diff plus but still no luck.

Lol I don't even have a spare fuse, I own a screwdriver and thats about it.

without a volt/ohm meter there isn't much you can do other than replace the fuse. even that might not solve your problem.

Do you think using the 3amp fuse would have at least put the standby light on?

Found a 5amp in my computer have swapped them surround not working but the computer is. So its not the amp, oh well Amazon can have the system back :(

Cheers for the help here :)
