I heard this question and I knew by faith (yes antiests that evil word) that there was an answer to it. So I looked for it and here is is:

Pick the rock up from what? Once it gets big enough it is no longer sitting on the earth; the earth is sitting on it. Its just floating through the void, not sitting on anything.
