According to MW and (Q), telling lies is anathema

Does this mean that if you tell an atheist a secret or something in confidence, they will betray you as they do not lie?
 
This is more geared as a general philosophy question since it involves issues long dealt with by Kant, Descartes, Mill and the like. Posed in this subforum, it's just trolling.
