I'm no primatologist, and I don't know if there are any here. But I do know that until fairly recently, bonobos were classified as merely a variety or subspecies of chimpanzees. This is one of those subtle reclassifications resulting from the rapid maturation of DNA analysis using powerful computers, like finding out that dogs are actually not a separate species from wolves.
So until a primatologist checks in, my money is on chimps and bonobos being related to each other far more closely than either is related to Homo sapiens.
As for which of the two species is our closest relative, the primatologists probably know the answer to that question too.
