Blind dreams

I don't know if this has been posted before but after reading the color dream thread I started thinking....what color do blind people dream in?

Do they even dream at all?

What about those who have been blind from birth?...do they dream? Are their dreams just audible mumbo jumbo much like ours are audible and visual junk most of the time?

What about those who have been blinded at some point in their life? Do their dreams cease changing at some point and only repeat the same visual stimulus stored before loss of sight? Or do they just dream by piecing together stored visual stimulus from before to accomodate changing enviroment around which they become aware of through their hearing?

...and now the real whammy....what of those rare cases who are blind and deaf ala Helen Keller?

if they have never been exposed to a colour then they cannot know what it is and therefore cannot dream about it.

I'm not blind, yet one of my all-time scariest dreams was of a deap droning roar that I for some reason associated with the numbers 8 and 9. Everything was totally black.

Well, the brain can compose images. Perhaps it can compose sounds and texture. Perhaps what they have in dreams is a general thought, like realization of a sound but not actual hearing of a sound. This is only a guess; perhaps somebody can point to scientific findings.

I heard somewhere that only people that have been blind from birth don't dream. Otherwise, if ya don't dream, that's a bad sign.

But of course, maybe I'm not fully remembering what I read. Maybe they said they don't "see" in their dream.
