Hiya!
*crack*

I wonder about birds/fowls/whatever else to that look. Why is it that when they walk, they tend to move their heads rather 'forcefully' every step. as if they have stiff necks?

I can't say that I know with 100% certainty, but i would immagine it has to do with their anatomy. Birds (generally speaking) have done away with many features of common anatomy to reduce weight (to accomidate flight).
The stiff neck syndrome you describe is can probably be attributed to that.

I think they keep there heads as stationary as possible to track any moving objects while walking. Its harder to detect a moving object if your eyes are moving as well?
