This would be so much better for people who suffer from diabetes. I always wonder how my dad does it, pricking himself with a needle and all, and then drawing blood. It sounds so uncomfortable and painful.

There's a collaborator of ours at ASU who's developing alternative technologies for diabetes monitoring as well. This one uses fluid from tears to detect glucose levels. I can't post links yet because of my low post count but you can find it at google with the search term:
