I don't recall the US ever being hailed as the best country to live in.
Crap education, surrounded by debt, lies and bullshit, no national health service, earning a technically worthless currency, being patronised every day, your kids growing up being told everyone wins and no one is a loser, OPRAH WINFREY, shall I go on?
I think the best place to live is pretty subjective.

Ever since the creation of the corrupt Federal Reserve System money "inflating" scheme, pretty much every country's "money" is now worthless. And corporations seem set to take over and devour the entire planet, so no country is safe from the corporate cultural pollution.
And what's so wrong with everybody wins and nobody's a loser? Shouldn't it be that way? Oh that's right, it can't be that way in board games and sports. That's just plain stupid.
Government monopoly "education" is crap, but the rapid growth of home schooling is cause for hope of improvement.
No national health service? Why do they keep lying, as you complain about the lies and BS, calling it "health." It's medical rip-off insurance, because one can have great health without it. Havn't you heard the saying, "If you think health care is expensive, wait until its free." Then you will have to mortgage your home and go to Belize, to have that operation that the government won't approve. Imagine how long the lines will be, once government monopolizes medical care too? Has the government done well with the crap schools? Then why should we trust them to manage anything else? Congress just added insult to injury, when they voted to deny us our right to purchase our medications from other countries where they are more affordable. In the pocket of the corporations, eh? I suppose there's a tiny chance of having some government-run medical industry that might actually work, but certainly not if wicked liberals like Hillary Clinton get their way in designing their clever globalist medical monopoly. And how long until the government says, "Well whoops! We just can't afford for people to go on having their religious 8 children in a family anymore, we have to impose a 1-child policy like in China, to hold down the medical costs?"
Oprah Winfrey? TV just doesn't look so bad, if Oprah Winfrey is the worst of the celebrities constantly being put on parade on it. There's lots of worse airheaded liberal celebrities, far worse than Oprah. I wish we could somehow ban Rap-is-crap. That has got to be making the U.S. look stupid, and giving ammunition to the violent Muslim extremists for calling the U.S. some "great Satan" or whatever nonsense. What? And like they think themselves God's gift to the world, or the "Saints?" How can we argue very effectively that we aren't the world's great Satan, when certain power-mad western elitists under the guise of U.S. foreign policy, try to poison the entire world with their shoddy contraceptive potions and poisons, and when the Rap-is-crap immediately sounds like crap, to anybody's mind who hasn't already been turned to crap?

I have to say, America is like a drug, once you get here and spend more than a year you won't want to live anywhere else. I travalled to England from America once and I wanted to come back to America (and I was initially very excited to visit England), I was actually nauseated in England. Please, if you haven't visited America, don't bother, its a trap, otherwise stay for only 3 months and repatriate. I'm a foreigner living in America, my visa has expired since 700 B.C, i'm still here because you never know what will happen everyday you wake up.
BS, my friend is studying there and she's counting days when she can get off US soil - the country with its people is seriously freaking her out. She says it's the same as USSR, only they have capitalism instead of comunism.

Which is asinine since the attitudes and views differ from one region to the next. Just because we all speak the same language, does not imply we're all cookie cutters of eachother. There are 300 million people here with about 50 major metropolitan areas. Whatever you want, you're sure to find a city with the right attitude for you here. (which is not to say that the USA is for everybody, but you can't sum up the whole nation by one personal experience).
As far as my choices go:
First-- Phoenix, AZ (USA). I miss that city more and more, the longer I live back here in Cleveland, Ohio.
Second-- Tenerife, Spain. Damn, I miss the Canary Islands.

Education is what you make of it, regardless of the country. If Prince William preferred Columbia University to Oxford, I can't imagine that our schools are very crappy; probably on the line with other schools in the western world.

U.S. is no longer at the top of Quality of Life rating. Canada and Scandinavia are above it, if I remember right.
Anyway, it's impossible to say which country is best to live in because people have different tastes. I love it in NYC, but I wouldn't set foot to live outside it anywhere in U.S. I can visit the vast nature that towers over humans, but I wouldn't live in American suburbs or small towns. Well, everything in America seems to tower over us: buildings, mountains, forests, rivers, oceans, snow and heat, wolves, deer, the great mass of the diverse population, money, poverty, earthquakes, hurricanes.... Not everyone can take it. NYC's shine is for me, but many people hate it, they find it too dirty, too noisy, and too full of immigrants and negroes.
I think it's just too full of people, like the planet as a whole.

I cannot believe no one has mentioned SINGAPORE... Seriously, even malaysia's good.
Singapore is like a haven for food, multicultural , catering to everybody..
Don't get me wrong (spud), Australia's great, but sometimes I hunger for Satay (proper) and Tom Yam, and Nasi goreng..
Unfortunately, It's only flaw is that the same party has been in power.. since independence, but since it runs the country well and unemployment is kept below 5% (mostly), no one really stirs up trouble. Oh yeah, and imprisonment for gays.. But thats not different from about 20 states (USA) and about 50 other countries..
Advantages include, Low crime rate, consistent weather, great people.
Secure in its wealth, not likely to be attacked due to economic interests by at least half the world.
Although the cost of living is high for immigrants at first, It eventually evens out.

The U.S. has just over half, the average world population density, and since most countries legitimate claims to their land, could be questionable considering how they historically acquired their land, and since we have "more than our fair share" of the world's land, and presumably don't want to "give any of it back," as that would be unfair now to all the people living there who build homes fully expecting to be living within the U.S., then that suggests that we either breed more children ourselves, welcome more immigrants, or both.
Even backwards commie-abused China, has shown that a land mass similar to size as ours, can easily hold well over a billion people. We have what? Not even a third of a billion. We obviously aren't anywhere near "full."
More and more people would be glad to live, and most everybody wants or ends up having children. Each and every human life is sacred and precious and God has some purpose for each person, and so the natural flow of human life should be unhindered.
Encourage large families worldwide, so that far more people may live.
Of course as more women reach childbearing age, they should be encouraged to marry and reproduce without bothering with any of the bizarre unnatural means of "birth control," welcoming the natural flow of human life to increasingly fill the planet. As the number of birth canal paths naturally rises, from which babies can emerge, throughout much of the world, of course babies can be added faster and faster, as now there's finally enough parents around to raise so many children.

By my personal ratings, U.S. is better than any country in the former USSR at least because it has put an effort to preserve its nature. Sure, you can point to airplanes and garbage, but on the other side of the stick we have enormous national parks and zoos and awareness of ecosystems' populations. U.S. is not overpopulated throughout, but some cities are.

Lebanon is torn by a multitude of extremism, from all factions.
If you want the best of Lebanon without the violence, go to Syria! Same land, better cities, better economy and best of all, extremism is punished so it's hella safer.
Greece is beautiful. While I have never been there, you can, with some visual aid see Greece from Syria and you can travel there if you want by boat
