Edible vaccines in the form of a banana are a simply awesome concept. They would be cheap(er) vaccines that don’t have the refrigeration and handling difficulties of traditional vaccines, thus enabling their distribution to remote areas. By avoiding needles they solve the infection risk associated with re-using needles and syringes, avoids the need for training of personnel, and helps those who are needle phobic.
