I was speaking about the tendency of those countries to look after their own... and, in fact, have less incidence of non-native individuals rising to power politically speaking than the western countries you accuse of racial eliteism.

You cannot comment on racism displayed by western countries, while failing to confront your own.
Can you imagine the furor it would cause should the US, for example, ban Obama from the presidential election simly because he isn't white and christian? And yet that is precisely what occurs in Malaysia. Care to comment on that?

Actually, I'm probably deflecting myself by only speaking of whites being in government in those countries. Expand it to include the numerous and economically-necessary Chinese or Indians in southeast asia, just by way of example, not having any real representation in government.

The problems started when 47 year old Iranian born Ibrahim Batmani offered his hand in greeting to a new female colleague. She declined to shake his hand citing her religion.

The difference here is in the habit of those false frames becoming "true".
An ideal, regardless of whether or not it is supported by the establishment as a sop to the people, has a habit of becoming more real as time goes by.
