Because theists are not allowed to preach in some forums & their claims are not accepted without proof & their arrogant assumptions about atheists are refuted & there are more atheists than theists, theists feel they are not treated right.

Atheists eat babies? (Babies are tasty, though. Especially barbecued.)

If the first graphic is meant to suggest that atheists have no human sensitivity or compassion, I'll agree that they're often overly aggressive and willfully stupid (as they ironically boast of being the intellectually superior ones).

That's one of several reasons why I prefer to identify as an agnostic.

The second graphic is spot-on. It kind of illustrates the point I just made.

Only if the chicken entered with a firehose and flooded every board with endless idiotic OP's like :
Atheism - Just another religion
You are not what you say you are; you are what I say your are.
Why so much prejudice against theists?
Without God, there is no morality.
Without Morality, you can't behave well.
Scientific truth is no match for Spiritual Truth
Atheists don't know right from wrong
Darwin was a potatohead
And he still is
Blind chance could never have created a Swiss watch
Or bacon, which is a Very Moral Thing the Eat
How do you ever find a meaning in life?
You can't PROVE God doesn't exist
Can't, either, nuh-uh!
How come I'm not even allowed to ask a simple question around here?
See, they're picking on me again!

BTW - name three religions that practiced ritual human sacrifice.
Name three religions that practiced ritual animal sacrifice.
Name one atheist who practiced any kind of ritual sacrifice.

Apparently, agnostics can be atheists or theists.

Agnosticism is about knowledge.
Atheism is about belief.

It's a mess.

I think it's best to be clear.

There are no gods.

How can I be sure?

Faith.

I find it is only spot on with regard situations when the chicken deliberately bastes themself with barbecue sauce before standing next to a firepit and making as much noise as they can. Unfortunately that is too often the case. ;)

Is that a thesis or a sermon?

On boards like this one, if anyone expresses any religious idea whatsoever, that idea will be furiously attacked from all directions by people who oftentimes don't even understand what they are attacking or why they are attacking it. The same thing is true if somebody expresses a political opinion that deviates from the majority's moral certainties and rectitude.

It isn't about exploring interesting intellectual issues where differences of opinion are to be expected. It's about enforced conformity.

Agnostic = without knowledge. Atheist = without belief. No significant difference. We cannot know anything without believing it & we cannot believe anything without knowing it or at least, believing we know it. Everyone, who is not a theist, is an atheist.

Anyone who claims to believe something they do not know is being silly, at best.

Not all theists have received the Ninth Commandment, but all those who have break it every time they talk about atheists.

Seriously: all of them.

I beg to differ.
One can believe without knowing.
One can believe that their team will win the league, but they do not know that they will.
Similarly one can believe that God exists while accepting that God's existence is ultimately unknowable.
The agnostic theist is the epitome of someone operating out of faith.

It is actually the inevitable outcome of those willing to take Pascal's wager, in the absence of any other information.
A non-zero chance at infinite benefit = bet worth taking (so some might say).

I do agree that most agnostics would identify as atheist rather than theist, for the reason you suggest, and I would also think that most atheists who give it a reasonable thought would consider themselves ultimately agnostic.
But from experience many theists are actually agnostic, although they perhaps don't realise it themselves, and I don't see it necessarily as being silly.

I cannot believe you are serious.

:)
I'm not saying that many/most would find the position tenable - I certainly don't - I just don't think it should be dismissed as being "silly, at best".
The reasons for belief might go beyond what you or I find rational and be more rooted in the psychological, the comforting, the inherent feeling that there is something more, etc.
Some don't question those, don't explore them, and are happy to accept them, and they find comfort in the belief, even if they accept they may never actually know.

The agnostic theist is the epitome of someone operating out of faith.
The agnostic is someone who justifies their atheism in a particular way when challenged. If there aren't any theists around demanding that atheists account to them for their lack of belief, an agnostic is just an atheist.
