Attacks on video games is not new

Over the past few years religous groups and concerned parents have constantly attacked video games (and many other things) when thier child commits suicide or goes insane and kills lots of people.

Thing is, this isnt new,i never played dungeons and dragons and never really knew the history,partly cos i was young,i do play baldurs gate 2 now which,essentially, is a one player version of dungeons and dragons.

However this website underlines a history of RPG's,basically most of todays games come from D&D,and there was a time where D&D was blamed on suicides and so on.

Now im not a religous man,probably for reasons like this where extreme groups come out with stupid shit like this,its not an isolated case.

yeah i looked at a so called Christian rating group. Who claim their ratings are based off of Biblican principles. But they are tottaly opinion. Saying Call of Duty is a bad game cause you can play as the Germans.

Note: the big thing on DnD is some morons (who probably watched Jackass too often) tried to see what exactly would happen in situations. Obviously these people made mistakes and a metal axe doesnt magicly stop for accidents. No its gonna keep going and probably maim the target. Long story short, Dumb people accidently killing each other.

My point was,the extreme point of view is that the cause of all the trouble in the world is directly caused by videogames and violence on tv.

Of coarse its not,you and i both know that,but the people who say this seem deeply rooted in religous (shall i say extreme?) views of the world.

It all comes down to paranioa,i mean i call em the "dark ages mob",
they all wanna burn you at the stake for showing any signs of what they term as "satanic" and they used to term D&D as satanic,and D&D is where it all started cos these groups joined in with the other mob,those opposed to violence on TV,this got the ball rolling,i mean im going back about 25 years,so you trace all this shit back and it all points to religous extreme,today thier influence is still strong.

In fact if al gore had won that election and became president itd be strong as hell cos its his wife that got the ball rolling on those fucking parental advisory stickers on CD's.

What the fuck is that all about?
i was in the shops the other day and this kid wanted to buy a cd,she was about 12 and cos it had parental advisory sticker on it,the dad didnt buy it for her.

Now this is just plain wrong and shows the misconception of what even the sticker means,its supposed to mean the parent listens to it first,but we all know that it dont work that way,it just dont that way.

I mean really all that is is PG rating,yet the same parent will buy thier kids a PG rated film or a 12.

You just realise the paranioa,when you look at things you see our society is deep rooted in the church somehow.

If it wasnt then nobody would care if your kid sees a xxx porn movie or maybe barbie and ken would have sexual organs instead of a "made in taiwan" label.
