Article on Kobe

Check out this msnbc article on some events today in the
kobe byant legal matter

Does anyone else find it strange that not only is the title misleading, but the entire article seems to have a strange agenda behind it.

Instead of getting details on the DNA evidence issue, we get largely a charming portrait of Kobe and his relationships with other basketball teammates.

Is the media painting Kobe in a different light than your average man who has been charged with rape? Obviously.

I do not know if he is innocent or guilty. But I do know that the media is guilty once again of being starstruck...

They're not necessarily painting Kobe in a different light than the average suspected rapist. That's kind of inherent in the fact that he's a celebrity. We don't hear about the average rape suspect going back to work and how his co-workers react. At least not in this degree, but maybe the occasional Dateline episode.

By and large, it's just part of the ratings game. They want to keep Kobe in the headlines, so they write a headline and then just fill space.
