Are you happy with how SF is being moderated

maybe that could make a good scientific thread "Is it possible to engineer a poll that accurately gauges people's feelings of modship on sciforums"
so far we have seen half a dozen different attempts, and each time you have people (aka moderators) saying that the findings are inaccurate because posters are sacks of bat guano or something

Not to mention the moderators who voted in the "I am happy" list.

We can deduct 5 points from the noes because they are sock puppets
(most of them being spuriousmonkey)
5 points because people misunderstood the question
5 points because people are "just being awkward whiners"
and 5 points because of the lack of bat guano.
That means no-one is unhappy.

Though, there is a couple of fresh registered members who aren't happy.
Also, it should be explained why those who voted are not happy.
Is it because moderation is not too rigid? Or it should be more casual?
Just 'No' is not sufficient answer.
Same goes to 'Yes'.

Unless its a goal of sciforums moderation to make its members happy (and I would hate for anyone to ever have to take something like that on), I don't see how the poll is relevant.

Please dissenters, voice your opposition.
I doubt that you will get another opportunity for a good while yet.
There are changes ongoing at the moment and they are looking for input.
At least voice your protests.
How would you like the place to be moderated?
Do you like the present system where each section has it's own moderator?
Would you like to be able to vote on a moderators performance?
Would you like to be able to appeal, say to a jury of members, about a moderators decision?
These are only suggestions, as I'm not personally unhappy with the status quo. A few niggles perhaps.
If you have suggestions suggest them now.
Don't say that you were never asked.

I think its rather a poor question to be asking for a 'how' on moderation before defining 'what' moderation is for.
Why is this relevant?
I think that members should be welcome to contribute vast amounts of cash to 3rd party moderation consulting that plazma can then hire to objectively evaluate moderator performance periodically and apply training when necessary. But members will have to put lots of money into it. Thousands or tens of thousands of dollars perhaps.
Plazma and James do that already.
A pony. The right place to start would be for Plazma and the moderators to give the site a goal.
