his inbox is probably full of porn already!

hahaha!

Spuriousmonkey, If I were you I'd rather send the stuff away for sequencing. We got a couple of sequencers and they are really no fun.
Other than that, yah, kill spam.

(ow, nice one).
Ahem, I'd like to have a Micro-Tof, then. Ow and a AFM, and while we are at it also a SIMS-TOF. I'll send you a cheque.

“Pommy” (often shortened to “Pom”) is a very common Australian slang term for an English person, and is also well known by the English as such. These days it is a neutral term. Its derivation is obscure and there are many false etymology myths behind its origin.

So, we can safely say you’re not a Pom or an Aussie!

Edit: Actually, now that I think about it, I’m pretty sure the Kiwis use the term a well. Anyway, I was merely curious about your use of the English (and, hence, most Commonwealth counties as well) spelling of “cheque”.

The one I know is that it's short for 'POHM' or 'Prisoner Of Her Majesty' as the transported criminals who became Australians had that on their uniforms.

This always struck me as odd though, as the criminals were the POHMs, not their captors.

I use the same spelling, Hercules Rockefeller, and I remember I was taught it at school, because I made a very silly mistake in pronouncing it in one class and my teacher had a very jolly time. :D
Anyway, in non English countries of Europe we don't learn American English, so no surprise that someone from that region uses spelling that seems native to the UK or Her Majesty's colonies. Former! :p

p.s. I'm not apologizing for this off topic, because this thread itself is off topic spam.

Yes, I didn't really put a lot of thought into it! In hindsight that's rather obvious now.....

Oh, it's definitely a free-for-all!

Yup. BTW I would not interpret too much into my spelling. Considering my abilities in this field and the care which I put into my post, anthing resembling English (of any flavour) would be pure chance.
And I am still waiting for my MS btw.
