In the last year I read about a new program, which at its top level, can play about 3200 strength.

Is chess at risk of being "solved"?

When quantum computing becomes a reality, I would say that chess will be solved. Given our current technology, we are nowhere near achieving the feat of "solving chess". Chess has billions upon billions of possibilities...
