American CONTRACTOR beheaded today.....+3

Paula,

so far I can only find confirmation that a headless body was found on saturday, the date the tape was made is unknown. Do you know of better info? i can't find anything else concrete.

crazymikey,

I said I wanted someone to properly handle our national security, our economy and our diplomatic relationships. All of these are supposed to be the President's job in the first place. I am a fan of neither the extreme left or right, I am a center Democrat. I really don't understand why that statement was controversial.

I thought you were implying that our national security is somehow endangered by the Iraqi "terrorists" and hence why I slammed you. Please accept my apologies.

wesmorris,

yeah, I thought that was odd too, I'm suprised it isn't a bigger part of the coverage as that little detail changes the politics and motives of the whole issue.

Well, I'm no conspiracy theorist, but it does make me wonder if this tape has been held back and released at a time more suitable to the administration. I don't really have a problem with that, as perhaps it might have been best never to have released it at all if the situation didn't require it. Regardless though, I'm surprised I haven't as of yet heard many complaints or conspiracy theories as to how it was really american soldiers doing that to him in order to save face from the prison scandal. That seems highly unlikely, almost impossible actually, but I'm still shocked I haven't heard someone claiming it.

otheadp:

You're probably right, but it does seem conspicuous to me.

a "CONTRACTOR" is a nice label America put on people to make them appear like suvillian so it makes Americans angry.

What suvillian in their right mind would go to Iraq? these "contractors" are higly milatry trained people who are sent by massive milatry companies (and the US Navy Seals) to make maxium profit from war strikcen countries.

that "contractor" was a man who knows who has been trained to kill with his bare hands. and many Iraqis have been tortured to death.

it has been confirmed that 1 Iraqi man was prisoned and beaten to death and another was also beaten to death.

i dont agree at all with what happened and i stronlgy condemn it but at the end of the day all these fighters want is to get rid of the Americans from their country.

47000 Iraqi Citizens died before we invaded just because Saddam didnt like them... Which do you think is worse?

yes but AMERICA supported Sadam and gave him moral support, money, arms (includin chemical and plans for nuclear).

for years Sadam to the west was a great hero and tactful and smart milatry leader, and his massive war crimes were ignored by America, this was becasue Sadam a had a terriable regime and killed innocent people but America used him for their own agenda.

after creating the whole problem, America decides to have 2 wars with Iraq and the current one is a completely baseless war.

so 47,000 was greatly becasue of Americas backing and what about 1,000,000 Iraqis that STARVED to death SLOWLY because of snactions that America imposed  ?

Tadpole - with your PMs turned off, I cannot contact you about your deleted post.

Oh I see, I was mistaken about the timeline. I got a little confoozled, so nevermind my comments.

So America invaded Iraq and now America is complaining about the consequences.
Forgive my stupidity but isn't that a little disingenuous?

It's war, what did you expect?

so do you agree that everything is fair in war and that the Geneva Conventions are irrelevant? and that the losing side shouldn't complain because they're losing?

I agree ... With war you must expect the worst that mankind has to offer.

Is it TOO MUCH too ask for a little civility? I understand thedesire to make a point ... but these points have been made - time and time again. Noone listens.

I still believe the only way for success - the kind that reverberates throughout ALL humankind - is the success amongst all peoples ... A success of compassion for all suffering.

Was this act fair? It depends on what YOU think is fair. If ALL Americans were represented by our troops and civilian "contractors" you would find NONE of this - ever!

That's an interesting point Eman Resu, but I wonder... who sets the standard for suffering? How do you deal with, from a governmental standpoint, a bunch of people who by your personal standards (and any reasonable standard) are just a bunch of psychotic whiners? What if I tell you I suffer because I don't have a BMW or cable TV? What about a microwave? What about 1 hour of alone time per day? What if I'm suffering from syphillis?

It's just that I see a problem with the world in which perspectives differ. Minimize them on a personal level? Yes. Expect people to believe you that you're trying to do that? How?

well some more interesting information coming out to light! I think it was more of a revenge not war for many soliders.

Lawmakers Say New Abuse Photos Even Worse

WASHINGTON - The abuse of Iraqi prisoners by U.S. troops went beyond the photos seen by most Americans, shaken lawmakers said Wednesday after viewing fresh pictures and video that they said depicted forced sex, brutality and dogs snarling at cowed prisoners.

I'm afraid there's no peacefull solution in Iraq, US should pull its troops out and allow the Iraqis to settle their bussiness. The longer US stays there the more troops will be killed for NOTHING.

Bush doesn’t need peace in Iraq to win. It’s just a nice-to-have. Bush Oil is making shitloads of money off this war even now. The troops are pawns.

buffys,

I heard today on news radio that a medical examiner believed Berg was killed on the same day he was found, I presumed because the body was not decomposed.

Abu Ghraib is the modern My Lai. That’s the Vietnamese village US soldiers massacred, likely one of many (even Kerry was ordered to kill civilians; he refused). The soldier most responsible got only 6 years in prison, so we know what to expect now.

I think Abu Ghraib pales in comparison to the daily firing into neighborhoods that the US still does, let alone the initial “shock & awe” campaign that killed thousands. But there’s few pictures of that and Americans need pictures otherwise they can dismiss/ignore anything.

The beheading is a natural consequence. It would happen in the US if the situation was reversed, and such executions did happen in the US, to Muslims after 9/11.

Still looking for a cite, though.

:m: Peace.

zanket's cite and additional discussion are here.
