i have noticed as my son has got older he has got 3 crowns on his head 2 going clockwise and 1 going anti clockwise. Iv taken him to see a geneticist and been told he has Brachydactyly where he has 1 bone missing out of all of his toes and they are completely fused together and he has short fingers and they are webbed a third of the way. i was just wondering if these could be related and could be part of an altogether bigger syndrome or diagnostic?

Hello janinexx. Here's to you and your son, wishing you both the best of health.

As in all congenital anomalies, brachydactyly can occur either as an isolated malformation or as a part of a complex malformation syndrome.

There are many different types of brachydactyly as described above. The combination of syndromes you mentioned might be Type A1. You should take him to a specialist for a complete diagnosis. The sooner the better. You should be able to get a good recommendation and good medical advice from your son's pediatrician. Let's hope this is the most minor form and that he will have a long, healthy, happy life.

Good luck.
