With first returns expected shortly, here opens our discussion of the 2024 U.S. General Election returns.

First polls are closed, awaiting small numbers.
 
Harris won. Oh crap, did I let out the secret a little too early? My bet should return 190% profit.
 
Actually, the fact that Harris walked out of Dixville Notch with a tie is either significant or else reinforcement of the suggestion that the town is even more annoying and desperate than Punxsutawney.

As for Dixville, one might feel a little compassion for people who live in a town called Dixville. And following that with Notch doesn't exactly help. If they want to feel significant I say let them.

True. They may just not learn and keep making the same mistake or they may not understand why it happened the first time and keep ignoring those reasons like continuing to argue that everything is great when the other person disagrees.

Either way, some learning may occur. FOX was obviously not a news organization but now maybe it's a little more obvious that MSNBC isn't either.
