We should have a nice revolution somewhere. Try to have a free society for a change. See how it will work out. We will probably fuck it up at some point, but it would be nice it we tried at least once.

I tend to think people focus on the bad more so than the good, which the latter happens more than the former.
 
What's funny about "good" and "bad" is that regardless of the ontological reality of what a person experiences, it is their perspective that renders it "good" or "bad". The same thing could happen to everyone and in no case would everyone agree whether it was exclusively "good" or "bad". So when people focus on "the bad", they condition themselves to experience everything as "bad", in general.
 
bad example I'd say, at least for me.

if I asked everyone I knew, I'm pretty sure they'd be much more likely to remember that the US liberated some countries in europe than to remember that germany invaded holland specifically.

I understand the point, I just think it's flawed thinking. Yes, I think Ghandi's wrong. *shrug*
